16 x 20” on a gallery-wrapped canvas in a white float frame
$5,000 | One of a kind | All proceeds go to Oscar’s Place
This painting features Pickles, one of the first donkeys to call Oscar’s Place home and a key part of the sanctuary’s beginnings. The very first three donkeys welcomed to Oscar’s Place were Goose, Pickles, and Shadow. They arrived as very young donkeys after being rescued from an auction. Tragically, their mothers had been lost in the slaughter pipeline.
Goose and Pickles quickly became best friends and were inseparable. Once they realized they were safe, their personalities began to shine. As Shadow settled into her new home, she also formed a close bond with Goose and Pickles.
Together, the three became known as the Three Musketeers of Oscar’s Place. They spend their days playing and chasing each other in circles, then pile into a big cuddle puddle, legs crossed and heads resting on one another’s chests, fast asleep. They have become the poster children of Oscar’s Place and will live out the rest of their lives here, safe and free from the trauma their mothers endured.
Melisa spent time with Pickles, getting to know his personality and story before capturing it all in this breathtaking original piece.
This piece is perfect for animal lovers, collectors of meaningful art, or anyone who believes in second chances. Only one is available. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
